Sun, warmth, and storage in harmony – experience the energy future before ISEC 2026!
Pre-events invite you to discover innovative solutions for industry and cities – from hybrid solar systems to flexible energy storage and advanced PVT applications.
IEA SHC Task 73 – PVT Heating Systems
Meet the international PVT community at the industry workshop on April 13, 2026, in Graz:
Task 73 promotes the development and application of PVT systems (air- and liquid-based), identifies innovation barriers, and strengthens collaboration between industry and research.
At the workshop in Graz city center, national and international manufacturers and technology providers will showcase their latest products in solar hybrid collectors. These collectors generate heat and electricity simultaneously, making them an ideal energy source for heat pumps, for example. Participants will gain insights into the latest market developments and have the opportunity for direct exchange with companies.
Date: 13 April 2026
Venue: Franziskanerkloster, Franziskanerplatz 14, 8010 Graz

Industry Workshop & Training
within the FuelSOME Project focusing on
SOFC Technologies in the Maritime Sector
The FuelSOME project focuses on establishing the technological feasibility of a flexible, scalable, and multi-fuel capable energy generation system based on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) technology specially catered for long-distance maritime shipping. In this Industry Workshop insights from the SOFC systems are shared and discussed with participants’ inputs, while the Training gives the possibility for a deep-dive into the Multi-Fuel Pathway Explorer tool for modelling, simulating, and designing multi-fuel pathways.
Date: 14 April 2026, 09:00 am - 05:00 pm
Venue: AVL List Headquarters, Hans-List-Platz 1, 8020 Graz

Registration: Registration open until 07 April
Hybrid Solar Systems for Industrial Process Heat & Power: From Concepts to Implementation
The EU projects INDHEAP and SOLINDARITY demonstrate how the industrial heat transition can succeed: solar thermal systems, heat pumps, photovoltaics, and thermal storage provide process heat of up to 250 °C.
Demonstration plants in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, and Italy show how renewable heat can be used in industrial processes in the food, chemical, and paper industries.
Intelligent energy management systems and flexible thermal storage ensure high efficiency and maximum flexibility. This approach is complemented by Carnot battery concepts from IEA ES Task 44: they store surplus electricity as heat and release it on demand as electrical energy and process heat.
